Nicholas Maurice "Nick" Forck, 67, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Thursday, March 28, 2024, at Capital Region Medical Center.
He was born on December 21, 1956, in Jefferson City; a son of the late Richard Bernard and Rosalie Kathryn (O'Dowd) Forck. In 1963, he met Cari Skain, who later became his loving life-partner.
Nick was a 1975 graduate of Jefferson City High School. Following graduation, he moved across the country and called Seattle, Washington home for nearly 20 years. He attended the Academy of Music in Seattle where he gained his Associate Degree in Music.
His love and passion for music led to his career in the music industry. He dedicated his time and talents to various facets of the industry including instrument sales, recording, mixing, writing, and composing. Any instrument he picked up, he mastered. He was extremely creative and talented and enjoyed his own music the most. His passion led to unique experiences and encounters with other talented musicians and artists who shared the same love of the art.
Nick moved back to Jefferson City in the 1990s. Upon his return, worked at Pat's Place where he also played monthly with his band, 3 Guys in the Kitchen. He also was everyone's favorite bartender at the VFW for many years. Possessing a sociable and personable character, Nick loved entertaining at his home and having friends over for various gatherings. He was loved by many, known to be a jokester, and enjoyed sharing conversations and stories with friends and family, especially his friends at The Office Bar. His legacy lives on through his art and music to be cherished by those who know and love him.
Survivors include his life-partner of 28 years, Cari Skain of Jefferson City; sisters, Laura Morehead (Kelly) of Mason, Ohio, and Nancy Buersmeyer (Mark) of Jefferson City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Rosalie; and brothers, Buddy P. Forck, Mike R. Forck, and Greg C. Forck.
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 21, 2024, in conjunction with Nick's half birthday. For details, please revisit this website in the coming weeks.
