Obituary of Nicholas Giannotti
Nicholas Giannotti, 77, of Lawrenceville, New Jersey, died in the loving arms of his family in the early hours of May 27. Nick was born in Elizabeth, NJ on August 1, 1947, the first-born son of Julia Giannotti and Nicola Giannotti. Beloved brother to Robert (Cynthia, predeceased) of Mountainside, NJ and Cecilia (Michael) of Bloomsbury, NJ. He will be deeply missed by his large family and many friends.
Growing up in Elizabeth, NJ, Nick attended Sacred Heart High School and took great pride in serving as an altar boy at St. Michael's Catholic Church. After attending Seton Hall University, he became an accountant and worked for various companies including the Congoleum Corporation in central NJ, though his most cherished occupation was as a professional driver.
Nick loved driving, a role he embraced with professionalism and a friendly vigor. His reputation as an exceptional driver wasn't just about speed or precision; he knew the exact mileage between any two points, a testament to countless hours spent mastering routes and internalizing every turn and mile marker. He often spoke of the interesting people he met and the memorable journeys he facilitated. Nick took pride in the Michelin star restaurants he would get to visit and all the chefs he would meet in NYC who knew him by name.
Nick's favorite hobby was collecting. Over the years, Nick collected an extensive and meticulously curated collection of World's Fair memorabilia, silver coins, spoons, posters, postcards, and iconic relics of pop culture stemming back to the 1930s. His hobby brought him immense joy and connected him with the past. He loved to recount details from his collections, sharing his knowledge and the stories behind each treasured piece. Nick's most treasured possession was his guitar and 1962 amplifier. Nick enjoyed playing music and sharing it with others. As a teenager, he performed in his own band, The Ravens. This is where Nick developed his sense of style – his great hair, classic appearance, and beautiful smile.
Beyond collecting, Nick's friendships meant so much to him. His extended family at Lucky Seven, where he would enjoy his morning coffee with friends and try his luck at some scratch off lottery tickets, was a cornerstone to his days in Lawrenceville.
Nick is survived by his children, Mark Giannotti and Michelle Giannotti, son-in-law Mike, and stepson, David Scully. Nick leaves behind a legacy of love in his grandchildren Angelica, Natalie, Rayven, Rocco, Danny, Kaine, and Jasinda. He was a proud great-grandfather to great-grandchildren Larry, Riley, Julian, Liam, and Jalia. He was also a beloved uncle to his nieces and nephews, and a friend to many who will deeply miss his humor, kindness, and his smile that would light up any room.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 2, 2025 at 12:00 PM at The Church of St. Ann, 1253 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.
The visitation for Nicholas will be held on Sunday, June 1, 2025 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.

To Mark, Michelle and all the Giannottis´
My deepest heartfelt condolences to everyone for the loss of your dad, your brother, your grandfather and your great grandfather. I hope his memory stays alive in your hearts forever.
When I read about Nicks passing today it brought back memories of when we were kids and when Nick Sr and Julia brought Nick, Bobby, Cecilia up to Toronto to visit us. It was very exciting to have family from the states visiting. Even though they were short visits, it was always a pleasure. My parents loved seeing family!
I think the last time we saw each our was in the 60´s. As families grew we all lost touch, but my memories of Nick and the family are close to my heart.
May he rest in eternal peace.
Lots of love to everyone
Joe Giannotti Jr and family.

A few pictures for your memory book. Quality is not the best, sorry.
