Nicholas Maurice "Nick" Grasso, age 36, of Haverhill, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at his home. His loss leaves a profound ache in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Born in Danvers in 1989, Nick was the beloved son of the late David S. Grasso and of Valerie M. Clark and her longtime partner Scott Melanson. From the very beginning, Nick carried warmth and gentleness that made people feel instantly at ease. He grew into a man whose loyalty, humor, and kindness shaped every relationship he touched.
Nick was the devoted partner of Megan Leo, with whom he shared a deep and steady love. He was the proud and adoring father of Sebastian Grasso, his greatest joy and the light of his life. Family meant everything to Nick, and he embraced his role as big brother with pride and affection. He leaves behind his cherished siblings: Jacob Grasso and his wife Brittany, Kendall Leary and her husband Shayne, and Leila Grasso. He was the fun, "awesome" uncle to Reese, Dahlia, Hayden, McKenna, and Scarlett, each of whom adored him for his playful spirit and big heart. He was loved dearly by his two grandmothers, Patricia Grasso and Patricia Clark, and by his in-laws Kathy Leo and Enrico Leo and his girlfriend, Lynn Cobb, who saw him as their own son.
Nick's circle of love extended far beyond family. He was a fiercely loyal friend, especially to Kostas, Brian, Brendan, Dave, Brandon, Dylan, Greg, and his entire Cove Marina family, who knew him as someone they could count on without hesitation. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will forever feel the void of his absence.
A man of many passions, Nick found peace and purpose on the water, thanks to the years he grew up on Plum Island. It's where he found his love of fishing, spending time on his boat, and the thrill of catching tuna, moments where he felt most himself. He enjoyed golf, snowboarding, and tending to his garden with the same quiet dedication he brought to every part of his life. Nick had a legendary sweet tooth, a soft spot for simple pleasures, and a deep bond with his dog, Hydro, who was never far from his side.
He took great pride in his work as a painter, so much so that he owned and managed his own company, Grasso, Inc.
What people will remember most is not just what Nick did, but who he was. He had a wicked sense of humor that often had the room in stitches. He was gentle, kind-hearted, and unwaveringly loyal. He showed up for the people he loved, and he loved them fully. His presence made life brighter, easier, and more joyful.
Nick's life, though far too short, was filled with love, laughter, and moments that will be treasured forever. His memory will continue to live on in the stories shared, the traditions carried forward, and the countless lives he touched with his generous spirit.
May he rest in peace, surrounded by the same love he gave so freely. The family asks that this be a gentle reminder to check on your loved ones, as the ones who smile brightest are often the ones most struggling.
