I spent a lot of time with Nick as a kid growing up in Plymouth Township. As a youngster playing in the neighborhood , all through high school and even while at the Ole Ale House . Always loved him for his unique witty humor and just sincere genuine kindness. It saddens me to hear this news, however ,as we all know , the end of our path on earth is graciously met with endless peace and comfort in the everlasting light. God Bless you Nick and Rest Peacefully. My prayers and condolences go out to Nick's entire family.

Love you, Nicky. You will always be my little brother. Back in my high school years when I lived with your family, you had the most wonderful smile and laugh, and it was always so funny when you would tell on us girls for doing something we shouldn't be doing, and your mom would come and try to pop us with a rolled-up newspaper. Your sisters would duck, but I always ended up getting hit by the paper in the most loving way!!! Those are the best memories of my life, because I had a family, the Laspas', that took me in and made me feel like I was one of you. I know that you are at peace now, and I pray for your family and friends, because they're missing you so much. My prayer is that they will know that you are with Angie and Pete, your wonderful, amazing, blessed parents, and all your friends and extended family. Although I live in California, and I haven't seen you all in many, many years, the memories of my high school years will be with me forever. You are a part of those memories, and I will always love you, my little brother, even though you called us all Bucky, beaver teeth. I have to laugh now, because you were so funny and so cute. You will be truly missed. Love forever, Sue Hamilton.

I am shocked and saddened that I lost my cousin at such a young age. Nicky was one of the kindest men I've ever known. He never had a mean thing to say about any one. Rest in peace my little cousin.

Dear Athena, Lisa, and Debbie. I don't know how else to reach you except perhaps through this portal. I'm very sorry for the pain of your sudden loss of Nick. I remember clearly how you lost your father just as suddenly and without warning, and I'm sorry for you all. He and I fell out as sometimes happens in life, but the reasons now are not important. My friendship with him was one of the most enduring and closest of my life, and that is what matters at this time. Of Nick, and on balance I can say this: he made my life better. Together across decades we shared every joy, and every disappointment. We laughed, argued, and recalled countless shared memories, and spent thousands of hours of time on the phone keeping each other company, and staving off lonliness as only old friends can do. For all of those good things I am sincerely grateful. I also want to recognize the difficulties and challenges that he faced without complaint, but with acceptance and dignity. He had over me the advantages of a stable family that nurtured and supported him, yet I had a childhood and life free of the health worries that he seemingly never allowed to deter him, or steal away from him laughter, or any other of life's common aspirations. That was an enduring trait of his that I always admired, and will never forget.

The slate is clean with us my old friend. You lived a life of harm to no one, moreso than me, and you were a peaceful human being who's friendship was prized, and you will be missed.

I'm sorry Athena, and Debbie and Lisa. I didn't get to know your father well, but remember him as a leader, and your mother as a beautiful and unusually strong woman who loved her family and showed love to the friends of her children.

With deepest sympathy and respect
