Nicholas G. Lockyer, 46, of Lunenburg, formerly of Townsend, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, August 13, 2025, at his home. Nick was born in Niskayuna, NY on November 7, 1978, a son of Jeffrey and Theresa (Carlo) Lockyer. Nick moved to Townsend, MA as a child and graduated from North Middlesex Regional High School. Nick later completed vocational training in Industrial and Commercial Refrigeration at The Peterson School in Westwood, MA and received HVACR EPA Universal Certification. From a young age, Nick showed a remarkable gift for all things mechanical. There was nothing he couldn't fix, no puzzle he couldn't solve, and no engine he couldn't restore. His skill and creativity amazed everyone who knew him. Nick began his career working for JP Sullivan & Co. Apple Packaging Company. He enjoyed planting, grafting, and pruning fruit trees in addition to splitting and delivering wood. He managed the Packing and Distribution Facility at Devens Cold Storage, where he oversaw approximately 40 staff and performed maintenance and repairs to the packing plant machinery and property. In his spare time, he even designed computer programs to streamline timecard information. Nick was very proud of the fact that, during his many years as manager, the plant was only down one day. Nick was knowledgeable in plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and home repair/renovation. He also worked as a landscaper, landscape designer, antique bell restorer, and refrigeration consultant. In the winter months, you would find him smiling behind the wheel of his plow truck. When he wasn't working, Nick loved spending time with his beloved son, George. He cherished the time they spent together building, repairing, and customizing cars, trucks, motorcycles, electric bikes, 4-wheelers, boats, guitars and their golf cart. Throughout his life, Nick played baseball, hockey, skateboarded, snowboarded, rode dirt bikes, played guitar (Racket, All In), and painted landscapes. He enjoyed camping under the stars, gathering around a campfire, fishing, cruising in his classic cars, truck (monster or otherwise) or one of his motorcycles, playing music, and teaching others. More recently, Nick could be found enthusiastically making final preparations for his entry into the sport of powered paragliding. Nick is survived by his son, George Lockyer, whom he shared with his former spouse, Amy Guido; his grandmother, Mary Carlo; his parents, Jeffrey Lockyer and Theresa (Kevin Corr Sr.) Carlo; his brother, Brandon (Sascha) Lockyer; his stepbrother, Kevin (Erin) Corr Jr.; his nieces, Rose, Cassie, Farrah. Nick also leaves behind other members of his loving family, including aunts, uncles, cousins, many who referred to him as Uncle "Mick", and his dog and faithful companion, Bella. Nick had a rare gift for connection. He never considered anyone a stranger, only friends he hadn't gotten to know yet. His warmth, humor, and kindness left an indelible impression on everyone he encountered. Calling hours will be held on Friday evening, August 22, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Anderson Funeral Home, 250 Main Street Townsend, where friends and family are invited to share stories, photos, and memories in his honor. Nick's burial will be on August 23, 2025, at 11:00 AM in Pine Grove Cemetery in Westford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Nick's name to the Sterling Animal Shelter. www.sterlingshelter.org To plant trees in Nick's memory, please visit the Sympathy Store at https://www.andersonfuneral.com/store/best-sellers/memorial-trees For more information or to leave an online condolence, please visit www.andersonfuneral.com
