Nico was born on November 30, 2002, to his mother Lisa Lucero in
Roswell, New Mexico. He graduated from Roswell High School in 2021. Nico had gone to college for two years and was waiting to go to Arizona to become a diesel mechanic. He was employed with Mirandor for three and a half years. Nico had a smile that would light up the room. He had a contagious laugh that you couldn't help but laugh with him. He was very close to his mother who was his everything. He enjoyed hanging out with his brothers even if that meant playing video games or listening to music. In his spare time, he would go on late night rides with his two favorite nephews that he considered to be his baby brothers. Nico was a family man, and his family meant the world to him. If he wasn't with his family, he wasn't with anyone. One of the things he was waiting for, was for his brother to come home. He only had a year left. Nico only had a few close friends that he considered family. He enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews, being the biggest kid of them all. His family will miss him dearly.
Those left to cherish Nico are his mother, Lisa Lucero; siblings: Desarae Anthony (Alicia), Jeremiah (Miranda), Mariah Lucero, Jonathan (Jo Jo) Garcia, Richard Garcia; nieces and nephews: Analiya, Adam, Brandalyn, Azalani, Brandon, Analinda, Alexis, Adalyn; and the light of his life, baby Aria Azmeralds, Serenity, and Azmariah Lucero. He had one special and favorite uncle that he looked up to his whole life, his uncle Gregg and his favorite aunt, Nana.
Nico is preceded in death by his grandmother, Maria Lucero; his grandfather, Joe G. Lucero; his sister, Stefany Lucero; both of his brothers: Brandon Lucero, and Harvey (Hoover) Salinas; and his niece, Azmariah M. Lucero.
Those to serve as Pallbearers are Jeremiah, Desarae (Alicia), Jonathan, Adam (Tan), Anthony (Elijah), Adrian, and Brandon.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Nico's uncle Gregg Lucero, Richard Garcia, his nieces and nephews and little Max D.
We were lucky enough to be blessed with your presence in this life.
The family asks to whoever knew Nico to support him and wear his favorite colors grey and black.
Gathering will be discussed at services.
Nico's tribute was lovingly written by his family.
With Love Today
We thought of you with love today,
But that is nothing new.
We thought about you yesterday,
And days before that too.
We think of you in silence,
We often speak your name;
All we have now are memories;
And your picture in a frame.
Your memory is our keepsake,
With which we will never part;
God has you in His care,
We have you in our heart.
It broke our heart to lose you.
But you didn't go alone,
For a part of us went with you
The day God took you home.
