Nicholas Melone Obituary

Nicholas George Melone, Age 64 of Romeoville, IL formerly of Addison, IL. A member of the Riggers Association, Local 136 for over 50 years and a former U.S. Army Signal Corpsman at Fort Bliss, El Paso, Texas, passed away on December 3, 2007 ater a courageous 5 month battle with cancer.

Nick was a former member of the GWRRA, Goldwing Road Riders Association and enjoyed riding his Goldwing to many areas of the states. He was passionate about his woodworking and enjoyed working on his ponds.

Nick is survived by his beloved mother, Enes (the late George) Melone, nee Ranieri, his former wife Tina Melone, nee West, his loving children Charlene (Jim) McCurn of Kansas City, MO., Michelle Weyers of Lake in the Hills, IL., and Nicholas (Julie) Melone, II, of Schiller Park, IL.; dearest grandchildren Ben (fiancée Cyndi Bickford), Alex & Josh McCurn, Joey (fiancée Jenny Gudenkauf), Colleen, Anna (fiancée Jonny Jones), Matthew & Emily Nicole Weyers, Elizabeth, Tori, Nicky III, and Lenzie Melone.; fond brother of Doris (the late George) Schweizer; cherished uncle of Michael (Chris) Schweizer, Stephen (Tracy) Schweizer, Desiree (Rob) Tomczak; father in law of Tom Weyers. A great friend to many. Nick will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He enjoyed life and certainly lived it his way.

Family and friends will gather for a visitation to be held on Saturday, December 8, 2007, from 3:00 – 9:00 pm at Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Rd., (3 Blks So. Of Roosevelt Rd.), Lombard. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society. Info: 630-932-1500.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you . Nick was a great friend and quickly became part of our family. We were blessed to have such a great nieghbor and friend. He quickly became Papa Nick to my children and always made time for us. We will miss him greatly. I will especially miss the time we spent together.

I wish to give my condolences to the family, Nick will be greatly missed. I will always remember him for his amazing gift for his workmanship in woodmaking. I was privlidged to have received several pieces of his work and will charish them. I will miss him dearly.

I am so sorry for your loss, Nick was more then just a friend to all of us. He was a special friend to me and he will live in my heart always. I was privliged to be just as much a part of his life as he was mine. His family ment the world to him, especially his loving Mother. He will be missed but never forgotten.
