Nicholas Ray Morais, 37, departed this life on May 25, 2025 in Stockton Missouri. He was born in Walnut Creek, California on May 3, 1988 to Dennis Leslie Morais and Robin Lynn McWherter.

Growing up Nicholas loved to spend time with his grandparents and Uncle Danny at their ranch in Pinole, California. The Family moved to Stockton, Missouri in late 1999. In the following years he enjoyed playing baseball and football at Stockton Schools until his graduation in 2006. Following highschool graduation Nicholas joined the Navy, graduating from Naval Station Great Lakes in Illinois. He then went on to become a Master at Arms in special training in San Antonio, Texas. He served with the Navy from 2006 until 2013. After his honorable discharge he then attended Missouri Welding Institute in Nevada, Missouri and worked across multiple states following graduation. Nicholas had a great passion for cooking and enjoyed being able to share his skills and cook for others to enjoy. One of his greatest joys over the past year was his dog Tank, who he took great pride in loving and caring for.

Nicholas is preceded in death by his grandparents Leslie and Helen Morais. He is survived by his son Ayden Cassell; grandparents, David and Mary McWherter; mother, Robin Ayres and husband Eddie; father, Dennis Morais and wife Laurie; uncles, Danny Morais and Mike McWherter; siblings, Joshua Morais and wife Taryn, Matthew Morais and wife Hailey, Amy Locke and husband Clayton; cousin, Anne Marie Morais; as well as nieces, nephews.

Graveside service for family and friends will be held Friday, June 6, 2025, at 3:00pm at the Stockton Cemetery. Full Military Honors will be performed by the American Legion.
