Nicholas Dean "Nich" Powers

Nicholas Dean "Nich" Powers, 36, of Greenfield, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 19th, 2025. He was born January 29th, 1989 in Indianapolis to his parents Jackie Dean Powers and Karen Marie (Yount) Palmer.

Nich is survived by his parents: Karen Marie Palmer (Robert) of Martinsville and Jackie Dean Powers (Stacy) of Greenfield; 8 siblings: Jalen, Makayla, Debbie, Eddie, Levi, Dylan, Coty, and Kayla; paternal grandmother, Darlene Powers-Sweney (Keith); several aunts, uncles, and cousins; nieces and nephews: Dylila, Hunter, and Kimber; several other nieces and nephews; special friend, Amanda Cross; and his K-9 friend, CoCo.

Nich was preceded in death by paternal grandfather, Jackie Powers; maternal grandparents: Marilyn Yount and Loren Dale Yount; his sister, Angel Sears; his brother, Brandon Sears; step-father, Scott Alan Sears; and several uncles.

Nich attended Ben Davis High School and later earned his Associate's degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix, driven by a desire to write a book one day. He previously worked as a Customer Service Representative for Planet Fitness, where he showcased his selfless nature and big heart.

Nich was a devoted fan of the Indianapolis Colts, the Pacers, and wrestling, and found joy in all types of music, especially Jelly Roll. He was known by many for his infectious sense of humor and brought laughter to those around him with his playful pranks. He never met a stranger and was a best friend to anyone, he was always ready to lend a helping hand and support to those around him.

Family and friends may show their love and support from 6 to 7 pm on Wednesday, September 24th at Jones Family Funeral and Cremation Service in Mooresville. A celebration of life service will be held at 7 pm following visitation at the funeral home. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Family Funeral and Cremation Service in Mooresville.
