WARREN - Nicholas C. Santucci, 91, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, Wednesday, March 4, 2026.

Born on October 14, 1934, Nicholas was a lifelong resident of Trumbull County who made a lasting impression on all who knew him. He was a proud craftsman who dedicated his life to the masonry trade, passing this knowledge and skill on to his eldest son. Nicholas spent many years as a union bricklayer with the Local Bricklayers Union in Trumbull County and founded his own masonry contracting company, ROMAR Construction Inc. Through his work ethic and pride in his craft, Nicholas helped build countless homes, businesses, and community landmarks throughout the region. Among his most notable contributions was his work on the Veterans Memorial in Warren, Ohio—an enduring tribute to those who served our nation. His work can be seen throughout the community, standing as a lasting legacy of the quality and integrity he brought to every project he undertook.

In addition to his masonry career, Nicholas worked at General Motors for many years and also owned the Kit Kat, where he formed lifelong friendships and made many joyful memories.

Nicholas was a faithful member of St. James Church in Warren, Ohio. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy and participated in and supported various community organizations, including the Wolves Club, Sons of Italy, and many others.

He was known not only for his incredible work ethic, but even more for his dedication to his family and the pride he took in providing for them. Nicholas loved to cook and spend time around the table with family and friends. He enjoyed going out to dinner and sharing meals, but he was especially proud of the traditional Italian foods he prepared himself. He made his own wine, prosciutto, and dried sausage, and his family always looked forward to his homemade spaghetti sauce and pasta, which became a cherished Sunday tradition. Nicholas had a deep love for music, especially big band and swing. Frank Sinatra was his favorite singer, and his voice could often be heard echoing through the house while Nicholas cooked in the kitchen.

Nicholas was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rosaria “Roro” DiLoreto-Santucci; his son, Chelsey C. Santucci; daughter-in-law, Debra L. Santucci; his parents, Angeline and Chelsey Santucci; his mother-in-law, Clorinda DiLoreto, and father-in-law, Alfred Scott DiLoreto.

In his later years, he was lovingly cared for by his daughter, Clorinda Santucci; his son, Dr. A. Scott Santucci; and Darla Carbone, whose compassion and devotion allowed him to remain active and vibrant throughout his life.

He leaves behind his daughter, Clorinda Santucci; his son, Dr. A. Scott Santucci (Dara); his brother, Joseph Santucci (Clara Lynn); his sister, Esther Miller (Bob); and his brother, Edward Santucci.

To carry on their Papa’s legacy, Nicholas also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Dr. Nicole Elias (Robert), Representative Nick Santucci (Alexis), Mikala Santucci (Trey), Marauka Balent (Mark), and Anna Santucci (Lucca); and his cherished great-grandchildren, Clorinda, Mauro, Luca, and Angelo Elias, and Ella Santucci.

Nicholas’s life and work left a permanent mark on the people closest to him and the larger community. His legacy will continue to live on in the structures he built and in the family he adored. His hands built the community, but his greatest work was the family he loved.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Cleveland Clinic for the exceptional care and kindness they provided throughout his care, particularly Dr. Alvarez, who went above and beyond to ensure that Nicholas received the care he deserved.

Honoring Nicholas’s wishes, a private service was held for the family.
