Nicholas George Vasilakis

Nicholas Vasilakis, 89, passed away on Sunday February 18, 2024. He is survived by his son, George (Eugenia) Vasilakis, daughter, Anastasia Vasilakis, grandchildren, Clea (Christopher) Kanelos, Nikolas Vasilakis, great grandchild Demi Kanelos, brother-in-law Pete (Marianthi) Garifalis; and sister-in-laws, Helen Verven and Demetra Vasilakis; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Nicholas was born in Zorianos, Greece and came to the United States following World War II. He became a US Citizen and was the first of his family to attend college. He also served with the Air Force Reserve in the North Sea in 1957.
He became an engineer and worked at Burroughs Corporation and Reuters News Service.
He was married to Harriet the love of his life for 59 years. He dedicated himself to his family and church and was instrumental in the development of St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Hollywood, Florida.
Nicholas had a love of life, compassion for others and a strong faith. He leaves a legacy that will forever be remembered.
