Nick J.Battista, a cherished member of his community, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2025, at the age of 94. Born on July 5, 1931, Nick dedicated over 30 years of his life to serving as a Chicago Police Officer, a vocation that reflected his deep commitment to public safety and the welfare of others.
In addition to his commendable career in law enforcement, Nick was a proud Korean War Veteran, having served honorably in the United States Air Force. His dedication to his country and his unwavering sense of duty were qualities that defined his life.
Nick is survived by his beloved sister, Carmella (late Salvatore) Monteleone, and he leaves behind a legacy as an uncle, great uncle, and great great uncle to many who will fondly remember his warmth and guidance throughout their lives.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Frank (late Georgeanne) Battista, who will be lovingly remembered alongside him.
A Mass honoring his life was held privately at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church in Addison on Saturday August 23, 2025,
Nick's legacy of service and love for his family and community will forever remain in the hearts of those he touched. May he rest in eternal peace.
