Nick was the kind of friend who could light up a room without even trying. He had a gift for making people laugh-often at his own expense. With his endless catalog of jokes, quick wit, and self-deprecating humor, he never let things get too serious when he was around. If you were in Nick´s company, you were going to laugh, and you were going to feel included.
He had a deep love for his friends and a genuine desire to see everyone enjoying themselves. Whether he was taking people out on his boat for an afternoon, or holding court at his favorite cigar lounge, Freedom, with his encyclopedic knowledge of college sports, especially Ohio State-honestly, he knew more about players and coaches than most professional announcers-you could always count on Nick to bring energy and joy to the moment.
Beyond his humor and generosity, Nick lived with a dedication to fitness and discipline that traced back to his dad, whom he often praised for pushing him hard in basketball. That upbringing not only shaped his athleticism, but also instilled in him a sense of resilience and drive that carried through every part of his life.
Nick was more than a friend; he was important in many people´s lives in Naples, Florida-the one who made sure everyone was laughing, included, and cared for. His kindness, his humor, and his love of friends will stay with us always.
I will miss him dearly, but we´ll carry his spirit forward-in every laugh we share, every Nick story we tell, and every good time remembered, just the way Nick would have wanted. - Bob Koch, Naples

Hodie, will be missed so much! He would come in and out of my life for the last 25-30 years, but one thing is for sure no matter where we hooked up, in town or out of town randomly, he would see me and let out a big yell of "Sammy!!!" and come over and high 5 and hug me. He was such a good heart! He knew how to make feel great! He will be missed by me and so many more!!! Love ya brother!

I am so sad to hear of Nick´s passing. He was one of many who made me look like a good basketball coach. He was a highly skilled player. Off the court, he was terrific with a quick wit and a desire to please. His social skills made him a delight to be around. Rest in peace, my friend.

I spent some wonderful times with Nick here in Naples Fla. he loved his life here. We enjoyed bike rides to the beach, eating our weight in oysters on Fifth Avenue, he even introduced me to his cigar smoking buddies, and I got to hang with the guys and smoke cigars. what an honor to be part of the "boys club". He was loved by everyone who met him here .One of the highlights of his life was getting to see the Buckeyes win the championships in Atlanta this past January. I´m so grateful we got to share that moment together and will forever treasure the fun memories.. my heart goes out to his family at this time. Nick I pray you are truly at peace now. May God bless you

Nick "My Main Man" Hodak was a wonderful friend and mentor. I was blessed to know Nick for more than 25 years, and he played an important role in helping me get started with Stryker years ago. I will always cherish his advice, support, and friendship throughout the years.
Thank you, Nick, for all of the memories. You will be deeply missed, my brother.

Great great guy...I remember when we were at Stryker together. I admit, we didn't start off on the best of terms, but we eventually became so cool with one another. He was a special guy...good man indeed. He used to get me and my family State Fair tickets w/parking every year. This was the type of person he was. You will be missed Sir...rest peacefully Brother.

Nick was a good friend and one of the best sales reps I have ever met. We were both hired at Stryker the same week and I had the pleasure of working along side of him for nearly a decade. He always greeted everyone with a smile and treated you like you were his best friend. He will be missed as a friend and a colleague.

Nick was my Stryker representative, and was very good at his job. He was also a personal friend. We saw The Rolling Stones together at Ohio Stadium, drank hurricanes at Pat O´Briens, and shared many good times. Always the life of the party, Nick was always smiling and made everyone else smile. He left us way too soon. I hope your family is comforted by fond memories of what a great guy you were. Rest in peace Nick.
