Michael Leonard Sackman, born October 31, 1958, passed away on November 26, 2025, at the University of Toledo Medical Center.

Mike will be remembered for his gentle demeanor, his ready smile, and the quiet kindness he offered to family, friends, and all who crossed his path.

A lifelong fan of Minnesota Vikings football, classic rock, reading, and fishing, Mike found joy in life's simple pleasures. He was immensely proud of his beloved daughters, Natalie and Valarie, and the lives they built for themselves as adults. His grandsons, Rocky and Kingston, brought him renewed happiness and strength, even as he faced significant health challenges in recent years.

Known by all as a true "nice guy," Mike carried that warmth into his daily life. His kindness, courtesy, and easygoing spirit made him a favorite among the care team at Davita Swan Creek dialysis center and fellow residents at Genacross Lutheran Services' Wolf Creek Campus in Holland, Ohio, where he resided for the past two years.

Mike was a 1977 graduate of St. John's Jesuit High School. He spent most of his professional life in management roles helping people look their best at local menswear stores, Richmond Brothers, Jos. A. Bank, and Men's Wearhouse – where his friendly, helpful nature earned him lasting relationships with many customers and coworkers along the way.

Mike donated his body to the Department of Medical Education at UTMC. Details of a memorial service in Mike's honor will be published by family on social media and be available through direct outreach.

He is survived by his daughters, Natalie (DuJuan) Daniels of Carmel, Indiana; grandsons, Rocky and Kingston Daniels; his daughter, Valarie Sackman of West Palm Beach, Florida; his mother, Barbara Sackman of Toledo, Ohio; and his siblings, Amy (Fred) Odum of Lima, Ohio; Kathy (Peter) Murnen of Avon, Ohio; Mark (Madonna) Sackman of Waterloo, South Carolina; and Kent (Renee) Sackman of Perrysburg, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his father, Russell Sackman.
