Nicholas “Nick” Jay Samuelson, age 44 of Westmoreland, passed away Monday, March 25, 2024.
He was born on May 23, 1979 in Goodland, the son of James “Sam” Darwin and Connie Sue (Orsborn) Samuelson. He graduated from Rock Creek High School and learned HVAC at Manhattan Area Technical College.
He married Bonnie Hokanson and they had two children. They later divorced.
Nick worked for Shilling Construction and most recently worked in maintenance for Manhattan Housing Authority. He loved the outdoors, looking for arrowheads and mountain biking. He enjoyed photography and all kinds of music, especially The Beatles and Jelly Roll.
He is survived by his parents, Sam and Connie Samuelson; his children, Shawn Paul Samuelson and Jazmine Leigh Samuelson; one grandmother, Norma Stanley (Vic); two sisters-in-law, Kerrie Volpert and Elisha Haverkamp; three nephews, Cian, Rylan and Damon; one aunt, Chris Duffey (Ross); two uncles, Steve Orsborn (Michelle Fox) and Gary Samuelson (Lee Hubbell) and many cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Adam Samuelson and his grandparents, Arno Samuelson, Eleanor Samuelson, and Marvin Orsborn.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
A memorial may be made to the Nick Samuelson Memorial Fund to go towards his daughter’s education. Contributions may be left in the care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home.
