Winterport-Nicole E. Ford age 40 of Winterport passed away August 2, 2023.
She was born August 3, 1982 in Dover-Foxcroft, ME. She graduated from Gordon College, where she majored in Social Work.
Nicole had an extensive career serving in emergency 911 services where she excelled receiving recognition for her work.
She received "The Mark Conley Civilian of the Year 2016" award, "Police Dispatcher (Janey)Ford Operations Division" for her dispatch work in the Boston Police Officer Shooting connected to the Boston Marathon Bombing.
Nicole was featured in the 2022 Lighthouse Health and Wellness NAMI (National Alliance of Mental Illness) PTSD 911 documentary Film.
She was an instructor and consultant for the 911 Training Institute where she traveled helping first responders dealing with mental health and trauma that they experience in the first responder community.
Nicole is survived by her sisters Amber Ford Buck, Joslin Ford and Michelle Ford, brothers Thomas, John, Adam, and Joel Ford, biological sister Heather Knaut, parents Edward and Barbara Ford, who were blessed to be chosen by God to be given such a beautiful daughter, grandparents Frances and Vaughn Thibodeau, nieces and nephews whom she adored playing with, Juliet, Finn, Everett, Barbie, Logan and Landon, and her beloved pets Odin and Moxie.
Nicole's family wishes to encourage anyone feeling hopeless or isolated to reach out for help. She is going to be so greatly missed. She is so greatly loved. Please dial 988 Suicide Prevention Hotline. You matter and your life matters.
The Ford family would be honored and encouraged to have you come to Nicole's service to celebrate her life on Saturday, August 12 at 11AM at Crosspoint Church, 1476 Broadway, Bangor, Maine 04401, officiated by Dr. Jerry Mick.
