On August 21,1968 a beautiful baby girl, Nikki Von, was born to John and Betty Vincent Allen in Houston, Texas. She was the first born to their union. Nikki started her educational journey at Little Lew and Tu kindergarten in the Garden City Homes section of Houston. She started public education in the Spring Branch ISD at Hollibrook Elementary. She later attended schools in Aldine ISD: Ermel Elementary, Charles Richard Drew Academy where she was an outstanding track star. She also attended Hoffman Middle School where she was on the basketball team and played the clarinet in the school orchestra. Throughout her school years, she was always an honor roll student and always worked to the utmost of her ability. Because of her academic performance, she was chosen one summer to attend one of the most prestigious private institutions in Houston, Kincaid High School, where she received a participation diploma in the program of Pre Engineering Training, Math and Science. In addition to academics, Nikki attended Miss Zoe's School of Dance and was on the "Firecrackers" Girl's Softball Team of the Inwood Dad's Club. She graduated from Klein Forest High School in the Klein School District. After high school, she matriculated at the University of Houston main campus earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. At the early age of nine years old, Nikki was baptized at Nazarene Missionary Baptist Church by the late Reverand There Washington where she was active in Vacation Bible School, on the Junior Usher Board and a long-time secretary of the Sunday school. She enjoyed attending the Lincoln Southern Association Baptist Conventions where she was crowned queen of the association one year. Nikki enjoyed attending the conventions with other youth from Nazarene, especially with Georgette Stephenson to whom she looked up. Nikki was employed for thirty years at Delta Airlines. Her journey at Delta began in May 1991 in Houston, initially in a temporary role that soon transitioned into a permanent position three years later. Her passion and dedication led her to Atlanta where she served in numerous capacities: including the Sales and Support Center (now Global Sales), as a NOC Coordinator, and later as AT Operations Manager when she stepped into leadership in 2003. Her impact extended through her time supporting the Premium Sales Lines of Business, before making her heartfelt decision to relocate to Texas in 2018 to be closer to her family. She brought her wealth of experience and unwavering commitment to excellence to the Care Line of Business, where she served as a Customer Solutions Specialist beginning in 2019. Nikki was not only a remarkable colleague but also a champion of safety and well-being. Her guidance influenced many across the ATL and DFW teams, and she generously shared her knowledge and wisdom with all who had the privilege to work alongside her. Nikki truly enjoyed life in various ways. She loved to go on cruises and travel to different states and countries all over the world with her family and friends from Delta Airlines. She also enjoyed fishing, watching TV and was crazy about fantasy football. Nikki was preceded in death by her father John Elvin Allen; grandparents, Theodore and Theresa Allen and Edgar and Sallie Vincent. Nikki leaves to cherish her life and sweet memories: her mother, Betty Vincent Allen; Sister: Shatara J. Allen; Aunts, June Allen,Margaret Allen, Ollie Evans, Sandra Rhea, and Ovena Vincent: Uncles, Rev. Willard Allen, Sr. (Margaret), Edgar Vincent, Jr., Randolph Vincent, Sr.: Nephew, Thaddeus
Edgar Allen: great nephew, Thaddeus Edgar Allen, II: great niece, Alayna Bell and a host of cousins, extended family and caring friends.
