Nina Mary Borroz

NINA MARY BORROZ
January 30, 1922 ˜ April 15, 2023

Nina Mary (Stonebrink) Borroz was born Jan. 30, 1922, the eighth of fourteen children born to George and Grace Stonebrink in Sofia, NM. She lived there until 1935 when the family relocated to Steamboat Springs, CO. Her life consisted of caring for younger siblings, doing farm chores, collecting eggs, milking cows, working in gardens, and learning to sew with her mother. Nina became a seamstress, quilter, upholsterer, and creative innovator of whatever was needed. Nina had a passion for life and always looked for ways to help others. Because of her mother’s gentle spirit and trust in God, Nina sought to know God and was drawn to him as a young teenager.

Nina married Oresto Borroz in 1942 and they had four children: Maurice Dale, Alan Dean, Gail, and Clyde. The family finally settled in Vancouver, WA, in 1953. Nina passed from this life on April 15, 2023, at 101 years of age, to join her savior in eternity. Nina was predeceased by her cherished husband, Oresto Borroz, and son Clyde Borroz. She is survived by her beloved children, Maurice “Bo” Borroz, Alan Dean Borroz (Brenda), and Gail Durance; her grandchildren, Zoe, Corey, Cristy, Jason, Jenny, and Erica; her great-grandchildren, A.J., Georgia, Preston, Ethan, Garrett, Aidan, Lochlan, and Liam; her remaining siblings, Earl and Berle Stonebrink; and many nieces and nephews.
