Nita A. MacDuff Leach, 99 of Warwick, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, May 23, 2023. She was the loving wife of the late Walter Fields Leach, who was a WWII Navy pilot stationed at Quonset Point when the two met before the war. After they were married, they lived in Glen Cove, New York.
Nita was born in Providence, RI, and was the daughter of the late Milton MacDuff and Myrtle Melinda (McDonough) MacDuff.
She is survived by her beloved children, Melinda L. Moscow (John) of New York City, NY; Jonathan S. Leach (Theresa) of Islip, NY; Elizabeth A. Klinkenberg (Martin) of Warwick; and Walter William Leach II (Susan) of Warwick; her sister Shirley Hogan (the late Thomas) of Warwick, her grandchildren, Nick Moscow (Jackie), Greg Moscow (Erica), Jeffrey Leach, Sarah Leach, Matthew Klinkenberg, and Greta Sloan (Josh), Elsa Collins (John), and Peter Hunziker. Nita had three great-grandsons, Joey Moscow, Jack Moscow, Daniel Moscow, and a great-granddaughter Rose Sloan.
Nita was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who provided a loving home for her family. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Wickford, where she served as a member of the choir for more than forty years. She enjoyed time in her family home in St. Martins, New Brunswick, Canada, where she had many friends and extended cousins.
Her Funeral Services will be private and have been entrusted to THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her memory may be made to the First Baptist Church in Wickford, Rhode Island.
