Noel Alexander

No doubt that Noel Alexander was greeted by her parents, husband Gary, and two siblings (Kerry Alexander and Joan Luoma), who preceded her in death, as well as many dogs when she crossed the "rainbow bridge" on Saturday, December 17, 2022.
Noel was born on Christmas Eve 1946 in Sault Ste. Marie and had fond memories of her time growing up with her 3 siblings in Algonquin and then her 25 adopted siblings in the Emma Nason Home while her parents, Carl and Dorothy, were lovingly running the home. After building lifelong memories and friendships at Sault High, Noel traveled the United States, playing folk music and enjoying all the adventures the 60's and early 70's had to offer. Later on, Noel earned her graduate degrees and specialties from the University of Utah and UC Berkley and, after serving as an adjunct professor in Utah, returned to the Sault and taught at Sault High and Lake State. Noel was passionate about animal rescue and dedicated much of her time to these causes. She loved God and was strong in her faith.
Noel taught her daughters how to appreciate nature and animals, the power of laughter (even at the most inappropriate times), and the strength to stand up for what's right. She is survived by her sister Karen Gail Oslund (Richard) of Marquette, daughter Aletha Marshall (Alex) of SLC, UT, daughter Karen Gibson (Matt) of Grand Rapids, and grandson Brandon. Noel leaves behind many nieces and nephews whom she was very proud of as well as several lifelong friends.
A celebration of life will be held in the Spring. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the ASPCA in Noel's honor.
