Nolan Yoder Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Auble Funeral Home - Orrville on Jan. 18, 2025.
Nolan W. Yoder, 94, of Orrville, formerly of Aurora, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at his home in Orrville, following a period of declining health.
Nolan was born on March 11, 1930, in Streetsboro, Ohio, to the late Amos and Anna (Hochstetler) Yoder. He graduated from Streetsboro High School in 1948 and married Marie Rupp on April 16, 1955, in Wauseon, OH. They shared 51 wonderful years together before Marie's passing on September 10, 2006.
He was the proud Owner and Operator of Aurora Masonry for over 50 years, retiring in 2008. Nolan was also an active member of both Pleasant View Mennonite Church in North Lawrence and Aurora Mennonite Church in Aurora. His volunteer work was a significant part of his life, including mission building trips to Brazil, Venezuela, and the Philippines, as well as dedicated service at MCC Connections.
Outside of his work and volunteer efforts, Nolan had many hobbies. He enjoyed woodworking, reading, and completing word searches. His walks in nature, capturing the beauty of snow, flowers, and trees through photography, brought him great joy. Most of all, Nolan cherished the time spent with his family.
Surviving are his children: Marla (Tim) Yoder-Tiedt; four grandchildren: Kelly (Jaysn) Jones, Brian (Kara) Hennen, Emily Yoder-Tiedt, and Phoebe Yoder-Tiedt; four great-grandchildren: Jared Jones, Carter Jones, Nolan Hennen, and Jaclyn Hennen; three siblings: Marjorie King, Don (Pauline) Yoder, and John (Mary) Yoder; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and his beloved wife Marie, Nolan was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen (Mike) Hennen; a son, Tim Yoder; his brother, Glenn Yoder; sister-in-law, Carolyn Yoder; and his brother-in-law, Fred King.
Friends may call on January 24, 2025, from 10:00 am to 10:45 am at Pleasant View Mennonite Church, 14795 Wooster St. NW, North Lawrence. A service will follow at 11:00 am, with Pastor Rocky Carr officiating.
A memorial service will be held on January 25, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Aurora Mennonite Church, 59 E Mennonite Road, Aurora, OH, with Jim Schwartz officiating. A private family burial will take place at the Aurora Mennonite Church Cemetery in Aurora.
