Nona Dutson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Mission Park Funeral Chapels and Cemetery Dominion on Aug. 19, 2025.
Mama You're my Cutie Pie, Sweeter than a donut, You're the queen of Premont and you get everything! Mama, I'm going to color your hair purple, -No you are not. I'm going to put an alligator in your bed, - No you are not. Who loves strawberry ice-cream, Mama does, Who likes hotdogs, Richard does, Yes, Mama, I know Mama, I love you Mama. -Richard Chulita linda, Más lindas tú y mi Mami, más lindas que todas las demás, Te quiero mucho Chulita linda, Juntas como cuatitas, Llévame adonde tú vas, Adonde tú vayas, yo quiero estar. -Cecilia Dolores passed away peacefully in the arms of those she loved. Up until the end, Dolores maintained her kindness, grace, compassion, appreciation of beauty, love of family and friends, and expressed gratitude for her long life full of wonderful and varied experiences. Mom's life can best be encapsulated by the love of family, friends, cooking and fun. At 88 years with us she experienced an abundance of each. She is preceded in death by her parents, Nona and Edward Canales; her daughter, Melissa; and her son, Russell. She is survived by her son Richard Dutson and his wife Cecilia Dutson; her son, Carlos Zapatero; many grandchildren, and her greatest joy, her great-grandchild. Love and support provided throughout some of the most difficult times in Dolores' life came from Cecilia's extended family, from the littlest baby who caressed her to the grown-ups who were there to dote on Dolores and assist with her at all times. Dolores was well loved. Among her greatest comforts were also Joshua and Beautiful who will be treasured forever. Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 26, 2025 from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Mission Park Funeral Chapels Dominion with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at St. Helena's Catholic Church followed by Rite of Committal at Mission Burial Park North Dominion.
