Gayle worked for Bloomburg Post Office as a Postmaster Relief; and she was a member of the Atlanta Church of God. In her younger years, she enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, and traveling. Later in life, she enjoyed making crafts and giving them away. She got so much joy in giving to others.
She was preceded in death by her parents Daniel and Hoyt (Gholson) Griffin, brothers Delton Griffin, Norman Griffin, sister LaNelle Griffin Robison, and great grandson Blake Lemmon.
She leaves behind her husband of 55 years, Frankie Coats. Her children and their spouses, Tammy and Richard Restelle of Bloomburg,TX; Tisha and Kevin Lemmon of Atlanta, TX; Michelle Ogburn of Hooks, TX; and Daniel Coats and wife, Lynn of Burkburnett, TX; her brother James Griffin and wife Loraine; grandchildren, William (Mylee), Matthew (Hope), and Brandon Restelle, Nathan (Mindi), Paul, and Jacob Lemmon, Grace Forsyth, and Tyler and Brittney Coats; great grandchildren, Huntleigh and Huxton Restelle; Baby Restelle due in April, Emma, Jesse, Elijah, and Judah Lemmon and a host of nieces and nephews and other family.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Monday, October 20, 20215 in the Hanner Funeral Chapel, with Bro. Chris Miller officiating.
Visitation will be Sunday, October 19, 2025, from 6 pm to 8 pm at Hanner Funeral Service.
Interment will be in Salem Cemetery.
