Nora (Betty) Rebecca Wylie Moon, age 95, of Toccoa, Georgia passed away July 17, 2024. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta, Georgia with Rev. Bill Rorie officiating. Interment will follow at Powder Springs Cemetery in Powder Springs, Georgia. She was preceded in death by parents EG Wylie and Penelope Inez Walker Wylie Barton; husband of 67 years Thomas Harold Moon; son Kerry Myron Moon; Grandson Justin Max Moon; two sisters, Gertie Sue Wylie, and Juanita Inez Keith, and two brothers, Harold Eugene Wylie, and Elmer Gladney Wylie Jr.
Betty was a native and lifelong resident of Powder Springs, Georgia and moved to Toccoa Georgia in 2016. She was a Member of the Clarkdale United Methodist Church. She worked for Southern Latex 1955-1962, 1966-1972 Clarkdale Post Office, 1972-1980 Clarkdale Postmaster, and Hiram Postmaster 1980-1989. She was a National Postal Advisor from 1977-1989. Former State and Regional Editor of Postmaster Cracker Newsletter and Postmaster Gazette and the Legislative Advocate Chairwoman for the National Association of Postmasters. She loved cooking for and spending time with her family, and traveling around the world. In her spare time, she loved interior design and decorating and was a Master Gardener with plants from around the world in her home and garden.
Survivors include son Tommy (Lisa), grandchildren Brittany Shadburn (Adam), Andrea Moon, Matthew Moon, Great-granddaughter Penelope Anne Shadburn and Great-grandson Thomas Harold Shadburn. Along with many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta, Georgia.
