West Cobb Funeral Home & Crematory - MariettaJennifer Lauren Smalley LaRocque, age 40, found rest, free from pain, on August 21, 2025. Jen, a loving wife, daughter, sister, and friend to all, was born on March 2, 1985, and lived each day with courage and grace, sharing her love, laughter, and light with everyone around her. Jen touched the lives of everyone she met with her big heart and adventurous spirit.
She is survived by her husband, Jason LaRocque; mother, Sharon Smalley (Mike Aderhold); father, David Smalley (Kathy Smith); twin brother, Jonathan Smalley(Alicia Bass); mother-in-law, Bernadette LaRocque (Dick Hill); sisters-in-law, Kristen LaRocque, Alissa LaRocque, and Alison Phillips (Greg); her corgis Rosie and Oliver, and many nieces, nephews, and close friends who love her and were lucky to be loved by her. Jen was predeceased by an infant sister Rachel Smalley.
Jen's travels -near and far, planned and spontaneous- reflect her love of discovery and her desire to experience life fully. Each trip was a story, a memory, and a connection she carried with her and shared with those she loved. Her journeys were as much about the people she was with as the places she went. She found as much joy in dreaming up the details of each adventure as she did in living them.
Though her journey ended far too soon, Jen's light is bright in the hearts of all who knew her. May her soul rest in peace, and may her spirit live on in every heart she touched. A gathering to remember Jen will be held on Saturday, September 6th from 2-5pm at West Cobb Funeral Home, 2480 Macland Road, Marietta.
