Nora (Fleming) "Noreen" Daubney, 82, passed away Sunday, January 19, 2025, while surrounded by family at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home, in Worcester. She is survived by her two sons, Henry J. Daubney and his wife Karla, of Winter Garden, FL, and John J. Daubney and his wife Alison, of Douglas; a daughter, Susan M. Graceffa and her husband Vincent, of Whitinsville; 7 grandchildren: Derek, Jerica, Katelyn, Brandon, Grace, Cailey, and Samuel. She is also survived by her 2 sisters, Kathryn Nagle and Eileen Foley of Ireland; and nieces, nephews and extended family in Ireland. She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years David G. Daubney, and 2 brothers, Jimmy Fleming and Patrick Fleming.
Noreen was born in Kilcummin, County Kerry, Ireland, on June 5, 1942, the second child of John and Mary (McCarthy) Fleming. She graduated from Rathmore Secondary School. At the age of 17, she immigrated to the United States, living in Worcester. After marrying her husband, David, they resided and raised their family in Douglas. She worked at Brewer Pharmaceutical Company, in Worcester, as a billing clerk and later at St. Bernard's Parish.
Noreen's greatest joy was being surrounded by family and friends. Her home was always open to family, friends, and neighbors and she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Over the years, Noreen and David's home was the gathering spot for many memorable family visits from her many relatives in Ireland. Noreen took great pride in her Irish heritage, and the sounds of traditional Irish music could often be heard at her and David's home. She also enjoyed going back home to Ireland to see her family.
Noreen's Funeral Mass will be held at Saint Patrick's Church, 1 Cross St, Whitinsville, MA 01588 on January 28, 2025, at 11:00AM and will be live streamed. Burial will be private at a later date. The live stream is below the service information after the obituary.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to VNA Hospice Care, 67 Millbrook St., 500 North, Worcester, MA 01801
