Nora Jean Lumpkin was born in Morristown, TN on March 6, 1941. She entered the gates of Heaven, met by Jesus and led into the Promised Land on December 14, 2025 at the age of 84.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Lon and Frances Dotson; husbands, Robert Lumpkin and George Rudder; son, Randy Dockery; brother; Albert Waldrop; sister, Mary Lenear; granddaughter, Melissa Premo; nephew, Johnny Lenear; brother-in-law, Ralph Lenear; and grandson-in-law, Sid Johnson.
She is survived by her daughters, Deborah (Mike) Payne, Charlotte Byrd and Crystal (Jesse) Reno; daughter-in-law, Virginia (Dockery) Hollingsworth-Alexander; grandchildren; Carrie Jo Johnson, Niki (Todd) Hurst, Kristi (Scottie) Dockery; Jessica (Jerriod) Raab; Megan (Allen) Young, Christopher (Brooke) Byrd, Timothy Byrd, Endsley Reno, Jason (Sarah) Hollingsworth and Josh Hollingsworth; so many great and great-great-grandchildren to count; special friend, Billy Denton; a host of nieces and nephews; a wealth of extended family and friends; special niece Teresa Ritter; and her most valued possessions in life, her fur babies, Tiny, Susie and Tabby.
She had a large, loving family that loved her deeply and that she loved in return. A generational blessing to her.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at Bridges Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will follow at 7:00 PM, with Pastor Jerry Ellison officiating. Family and friends will meet at 12:45 PM on Friday at Tennessee Veterans Cemetery for a 1:00 PM Graveside Service, with Pastor Bill Denton officiating.
