Janet Kancius Obituary

Janet Kancius was born on August 11, 1950, in Chicago, Illinois, and joyfully entered eternal life on December 25, 2025, joining Jesus' birthday celebration. She was a graduate of St. Mary of the Woods College, where she earned a degree in Business. Janet devoted her life's work to serving others through Project Concern International, the American Red Cross, Eastview Christian Church, Mary Kay, Fellowship Church, and Bible Study Fellowship International (BSF), all while lovingly and faithfully serving her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Mary Pahuski. Janet is survived by her husband, Martin; her children, Julia and Jason; her cherished grandchildren, Navya, Isabella, and Dakota; her sister, Laura Pahuski; and her brother, Eddie Pahuski. Her interests reflected her heart for others and for God: caregiving to family and friends, teaching and sharing God's Word, creating crafts with Dakota, painting, and reading. Jan was a servant in every role she embraced, always giving back as much as she could. Beyond her family, her greatest joy was teaching the Bible to children and women around the world. Her selflessness, humility, and deep love for God were evident in her daily life, her relationships, and the joy she radiated to all. "Well done, good and faithful servant." In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Janet's name to Bible Study Fellowship International or the American Red Cross. Click Funeral Home Middlebrook Chapel is honored to serve the family of Janet Kancius.

Marty and family- We were so sorry to read about the loss of Jan. She was the reason that I said yes to BSF leadership many years ago. We were at a retreat together and she reassured me that when you say yes to God, he allows you to prioritize and make room for the other important things. Thus began an 8 year journey for me( and for my husband, Bob) . I will always be grateful for her encouragement to do something that profoundly affected my faith and life.
We are so sad for your loss, but know that Jesus himself is holding her in his arms.
