Nora A. Myers, 92, of Bellefontaine, OH, formerly of Lakeview, OH, passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at Logan Acres Care Center, Bellefontaine.

Nora was born on March 20, 1933, in Springfield, OH, a daughter of the late Eugene George DesCombes and Nola E. Connor DesCombes. She married Arthur R. Myers, Jr., on July 2, 1952, in Boise, ID, and he preceded her in death on February 27, 2006. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Martin L. DesCombes and a sister, Joy Blackburn Emerson.

Nora is survived by two sons, Matthew A. (Deborah) Myers of Bradenton, FL, and Douglas (Teresa) Myers of Morton, IL, a daughter, Sally (James) Robb of Huntsville, OH, nine grandchildren, Devry (Andy) Shirk of Lima, OH, Matthew S. (Heather) Myers of Bellefontaine, Shawn (Jody) Myers, Bryan Myers, and Jacob (Allison) Myers, all of Morton, Nathan (Terry) Myers of Chicago, IL, Janua Jarrett of Meza, AZ, Steve (Sarah) Neff of Harrisburg, NC, and Doug (Sonya) Neff of Juliet, TN, 26 great grandchildren, a brother, Edward E. DesCombes, three sisters, Jeneane Lesko, Linda Lewandoaski, and Barbara Tassell, a special friend, Barbara Hodies, and several nieces and nephews.

Nora was a 1952 graduate of Stokes Local Schools. She attended Ohio Northern University and graduated in 1977 from Urbana University with a BS in Education with a minor in social work. She was active in assisting and implementing Logan County Head Start as a recruiter and social worker. She started her career in special education at Indian Lake Schools, then worked in special needs work study programs in Logan and Champaign Counties. Nora was hired as a field representative by Ohio State Department of Education, Division of Early Education, consulting in licensure programs and developmental procedures for public and private preschools, retiring in 2001. She was a life member of Ohio Retired Teachers Association, Logan County Historical Society, Indian Lake Historical Society, Christ United Methodist Church in Lakeview, United Methodist Women, Indian Lake Women of the Moose, life member of Doyle R. Miller Amvet Post #39 Auxiliary, and All-American Girls Professional Baseball League. Nora's love of photography, flower gardening, reading poetry, autobiographies, and news magazines, and her family gave her great pleasure.

Pastor Karen Blackburn will begin funeral services at 1:00 pm, Thursday, June 19, 2025, at Shoffstall Funeral Home, 205 S. Main St., Lakeview. Visitation is Wednesday, June 18th from 5-8 pm at the funeral home and on Thursday from 12-1. Burial is in Walnut Hill Cemetery, New Hampshire, OH. A celebration of Nora's life will follow at 4 pm, June 19th at Amvets Post #39, 110 W Harrison St, Lakeview.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in Nora's memory to St. Jude's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org or ALS Research at www.als.org.
