Nora Mae Potter

Nora Mae (Maggio) Potter age 89 passed away in her home on 03/01/2026. She was born on December 14 th 1936 in LaSalle, Illinois to Alex Cologero and Ruby Mae (Upton) Maggio. She graduated from Northeast High School in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in 1954. She married Frank Thomas Potter in 1955 and they had two children. Frank was in the Navy and they moved around a lot in their earlier years, eventually settling in Poway, California. As a Navy wife Nora worked several different jobs, her last one was in accounting for a car dealership, where she stayed for 17 years. They both enjoyed roller skating, square dancing, bowling, and camping. Nora also enjoyed doing crafts and sewing. Once they retired they traveled around to all 50 states, 49 in their motorhome, seeing the sites and visiting with family and friends. They moved up to Camarillo, California to be closer to their family. They had been married 55 years until Frank's death in 2011.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings, brothers, Alex Jr and James and sister Judy Barbere. Survivors include, Son Dennis Lee Potter and Daughter Mary Kathryn (Bob) Olsen, Granddaughter Kimberly (Joe) Glasby and Great-grandsons Joey, Jake and Josh, Grand-daughter Priscilla (Bernabe) Simon and Great-grand-daughters Layla and Liliana and Great-grandson Lucas, Of Camarillo, Grandson John Olsen of Oxnard. Stepmother Wanda Burnett and half Siblings, Jimmy Wayne Maggio, Michael Maggio and Alma Jean Vasquez all of California. Also many nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held at Poway-Bernardo Mortuary from 11:00 to 12:00, Monday, March 16 th , 2026. A graveside service will follow at 1:00 pm at Dearborn Memorial park,14361 Tierra Bonita Road in Poway, where she will be buried along with her husband.
