Nora Rivas Obituary
Born in San Francisco, Nora was a lifelong resident of Sonoma County and deeply loved the beauty of the place she called home. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, often visiting local parks with her dogs, swimming, or tending to her garden.
Nora was the youngest of four siblings. She was preceded in death by her brother George and sister Leticia and is survived by her sister Mirna.
Her parents, Orbe and Romeo, originally from El Salvador, settled in Santa Rosa to raise their family. Nora remained in Santa Rosa throughout her life, where she raised a family of her own.
While still in high school, Nora met the love of her life, Jose Amelio. Together they shared 48 years of marriage filled with love and devotion.
Nora's greatest joy was her family. She was a loving mother to her daughters, Myrna and Olivia, a proud grandmother to Madison and Isabella, and a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Nora will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, humor, and remarkable strength. Nora's love and legacy will live on through her family and dear friends.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Wednesday, March 18 at 4:30 p.m. with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at Daniels Chapel of the Roses and a Funeral Service on Thursday, March 19 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Rose Church in Santa Rosa. Following the services is burial at Santa Rosa Memorial Park.

My heart goes out to Nora`s family and I am sending my sincerest condolences.Nora was an absolutely beautiful person - inside and out. She always had a smile, a calm demeanor and genuinely cared about everyone around her. I had the wonderful privilege of working with her for many years and with her beloved daughter who embodies her same beautiful spirit. What cancer cannot take away is that Nora was, and will always be, an amazing mother. wife, grandmother, colleague, and friend. She was a true matriarch and her love for her family will always live on within them. She showed, by example, how to live with grace and dignity, even during the most challenging of times. She was truly an amazing woman.
