We are sad to announce the passing of Norah Kelly, age 70, on November 19, 2025. Norah, known lovingly as Noni to her fifteen grandchildren, was very much loved by her children, grandmother grandchildren and all who knew her.

Norah was born in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada on June 8, 1955, the daughter of Theresa and John Kelly, now both deceased. Norah's family immigrated to the Boston area when Norah was six, settling in Dorchester. Norah attended Saint Anne's, graduated from Fontbonne Academy and later moved to the South Shore, where she lived primarily in Scituate and Kingston. She proudly completed her Associates Degree in Science at Massasoit Community College in 2010. Aside from spending time with her grandchildren and attending their activities and events, Norah loved caring for her animals and dog sitting for friends. She also loved cooking and baking treats and sharing them with her family.

Norah was the proud mother of five children and of their partners: Matthew McDonough and his wife Suzanne of Marshfield, Kerry Hannigan and her husband Kenneth of Scituate, Allan Simmons and his partner Cassandra of Wareham, Daniel Simmons and his wife Gina of Falmouth, and John Simmons and his partner Amber of Plymouth. Norah is also survived by her four siblings, Rita Parsley, John Kelly, Theresa Kelly, and Kenneth Sweeney, her ex-husband and good friend Joseph McDonough, and her fifteen grandchildren, Tyler, Cara, Coleman, Caitlin, Joseph, Addison, Kenneth, Cooper, Ryen, Alex, Marley, Wyatt, Emmitt, Hunter and Carter.

Visitation and a prayer service will be held at MacDonald Funeral Home in Marshfield on Thursday, December 11, 2025 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Norah's memory to the Scituate Animal Shelter, online at: https://scituateanimalshelter.org/donate-now
