Marylou E. Douse, a cherished daughter, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2025, at Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston, MA. Born in the vibrant city of Boston, she lived a life marked by grace, dedication, and the joy of dance.
Marylou was the beloved daughter of the late George and Mary Douse and the dear sister of the late George T. Douse. She was a treasured sister-in-law to Emanuel Carreiro of Quincy and a cherished cousin to Laurence Donahue and his wife Marsha of Franklin. Her warmth and kindness also earned her the enduring friendship of Judy and Roger Roy of Abington and Catherine Aboltin of Dedham and Mark and Jennifer Cabral of Hanover. The Bird family of Hingham, amongst many others whose lives she touched.
A proud alumna of Fontbonne Academy in Milton, Marylou carried the values of her education throughout her life. Her professionalism and commitment shone brightly during her years as a Secretary at the JFK Building in Boston, from where she retired in 1989. Marylou's work ethic and the respect she garnered from her colleagues were a testament to her character.
Beyond her professional achievements, Marylou was a beacon in the world of dance. As a talented ballerina, she not only graced the stage with her poise and elegance but also imparted her passion for ballet to her students in Dorchester. Her love for movement and music extended to the lively steps of line dancing, which she enjoyed with friends in Hull. Marylou's dedication to the arts was not just a personal pursuit but a gift she shared generously with her community.
Her spirit of service was further evident in the countless hours she volunteered at various Senior Centers on the South Shore. Marylou believed in giving back and found great satisfaction in enhancing the lives of others through her volunteer work. Her presence brought light and laughter to those around her, and her contributions will be deeply missed.
Marylou's life was one of connection, grace, and selfless service. As we remember her, we celebrate the legacy she leaves behind-a legacy woven through the threads of her unwavering kindness, her love for her family and friends, and her passion for the arts. Her memory will continue to inspire and guide us, just as her presence once brightened our days.
In her passing, Marylou E. Douse leaves behind a world more beautiful for her having been in it. Her journey was one of love, laughter, and dance, and she will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. As we bid her farewell, we take comfort in the knowledge that her spirit will forever pirouette in the hearts of those she loved.

Marylou was a dear childhood friend! A friend of over 50 years! She was loyal, had great empathy and was fun. I will miss her!
I will celebrate her life. She is with "mummy"!
As I am not well right now, I will pray for all those she loved, especially, Judy.
God bless Marylou!

Marylou was my favorite person in our Line Dancing class. She danced so gracefully - not like the rest of us marching to the various steps. Everyone loved to see her dance in the class. She always had a friendly smile and an uplifting way. She looked and acted forever young. Her presence will be dearly missed. Such a sweet and dear person. - Marsha
