Norbert L "Norby" Kuksta

Norbert "Norby" Leonard Kuksta, 87, of Burr Ridge, passed away peacefully at home on Christmas Eve - December 24th, 2025.

Norb was born in Chicago, Illinois on October 31st 1938 to Stanley and Josephine Kuksta. He had one sister, Dolores (Edward) Gerut. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. Married to Joanne for 57 years, a union that shared joy, tender love and a commitment that would last a lifetime.

He was the proud father of James Kuksta and Kristina Corry (John) and loving "Papa" to Ciara (James) Slesur and Sam Corry. His family meant everything to him, and he took such pride in the family traditions that he and Joanne passed down to their kids and grandkids.

Those lucky enough to know Norb will remember him as a strong, kind and dedicated man with a compassionate heart who loved his family fiercely. He had the strongest work ethic! After retiring from a career with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Norb gave 13 years to Cook County as an investigator and ended his professional life with U.S. Customs & Border Protection. But what he loved most was coming home to his family.

Norb loved music, having been a drummer in the band "The Moods of Music" when he and Joanne first met. He was always active and enjoyed spending winters in Florida golfing with Joanne and Ma Ma Rose as well as bowling in their local leagues with friends each week.

Norb will be deeply missed and remembered for his "glass half full" outlook on life, something that became contagious to those around him.

A visitation will be held on Sunday December 28, 2025 from 3pm to 8pm at Adolf & Powell Funeral Home, 7000 S Madison St, Willowbrook, IL 60527. Family and friends will gather on Monday December 29, 2025 for a 10am funeral mass at St Isaac Jogues Catholic Church, 4th and Clay St, Hinsdale, IL 60521. Entombment Resurrection Cemetery.
