Norbert Ohmer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Neidhard-Minges Funeral Home-Westwood on Nov. 5, 2025.
Norbert "Norb" Ohmer loving companion of Juanita (nee Williams) Geiser and the beloved husband of the late Eileen Ohmer. Dear father of Nancy Tewell and Steven Ohmer, step-father of Karen (Bob) Niemann, Nancy (Kurt) Vonderahe, Mike Lucas, Roxanna (Dillard) Pegg, Denise Minges, Tammy (Neil) Reatherford, Alice Minges and Sandra Uhl. Beloved son of the late Clara (nee Willig) and Charles Ohmer. Dear brother of the late Raymond, Anthony, Donald, Elmer, Eileen and Clara "Sis" Ohmer. Norb was born on May 4, 1930 and passed away on November 1, 2025 at the age of 95.
Norb was a kind, gentle man who spent his life serving his community and loving his family well. He always worked hard and helped others. Norb was born and raised in Delhi and attended Our Lady of Victory Grade School. He enlisted in the US Army when he was 22 and served as a medic in the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1954. Norb worked over 30 years in the construction industry as a heavy equipment operator. He told Juanita that he could drive anything that was painted green or yellow and was so skillful at operating a crane that he could pick a hat off someone's head without touching their head! He served as a volunteer member of the Delhi Fire Department for 10 years. Norb was also an avid boater and belonged to the Cincinnati Police Boat Club. Norb was a man with many talents. He enjoyed cooking whether it was in the kitchen or on a grill at a campsite. He made the best fried chicken! He was also talented in square dancing, including calling the dances. Norb lived in Florida from 1985 til the mid 1990's with his wife, Eileen. Upon her passing, he moved back to Cincinnati and met Juanita Geiser who became his loving companion for the remainder of his life. During his retirement years, Norb loved gardening and producing the perfect tomatoes. He also loved traveling in his RV on trips to see rodeos with his brother, Elmer. He and Juanita spent many winters in Florida, traveling around the state visiting friends and family. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews and grandchildren who adored him and have lasting fond memories of his big hugs.
