Norina Carrasco
Norina Marie Doleatti Ide Carrasco, aged 85, passed away on December 11, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on April 22, 1939, in
Price, Utah, Norina attended Carbon High School. She married Rex Ide in 1958, and after his passing in 1967 she married José Carrasco in 1975.
Norina faced numerous challenges throughout her life, but always ensured that her family was cared for. She raised five children, often as a single mother, and cared for her mother, Jessie Doleatti, until her passing in 1995. She was a substitute teacher and a housekeeper for much of her life, highlighting her dedication and focus to providing for her family. She earned an associate's degree from Stevens-Henager College, where she honed her exceptional typing skills, which consistently reached nearly a hundred words per minute without error. Norina will be dearly missed.
Her home in Helper, Utah, was a haven for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Norina is survived by her children, Craig Ide (Sophie), Carolyn Cordova, Diane Weber (Steve, deceased), José Carrasco (also known as Joe), and Catalina Carrasco (also known as Cathy). She leaves behind 10 grandchildren, Nick, Caitlin, Tiffany, Richard, Debra, Reina, Derek, Donovan, Tarryn, Darius, and one great-grandson, Troy; cousin, Norma Rae; as well as 11 great-grandkids. They will all deeply miss 'grandma Reeny.'
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Rex; grandson, Eugene; great-grandson, Anikin; second husband, José; son-in-law, Steve; Wendover traveler cousin, Betty; and best friend, Lupita.
Norina's legacy is one of resilience, love, and unwavering dedication to her family. Her unique way of saying hello, which often involved a playful gesture with her middle finger, was her way of telling the world to "Have a Good Day." We will miss her very much, but her memory and the countless lives she touched will continue to inspire us.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to a charity that supports cancer research.

Poem by Linda Ellis
I read of a man who stood to speak at the funeral of a friend.
He referred to the dates on the tombstone from the beginning to the end.
He noted first came the date of the birth and spoke the following date with tears.
But he said what mattered most of all was the dash between the years.
For that dash represents all the time that they spent life on Earth.
And now only those who loved them know what that little line is worth.
For it matters not how much we own, the cars, the house, the cash.
What matters is how we live and love, and how we spend our dash.
So, think about this long and hard. Are there things you'd like to change?
For you never know how much time is left that can still be rearranged.
If we could just slow down enough to consider what's true and real,
and always try to understand the way other people feel.
Be less quick to anger and show appreciation more,
and love the people in our lives like we've never loved before.
If we treat each other with respect and more often wear a smile,
remembering that this special dash might only last a little while.
So, when your eulogy is being read with your life's actions to rehash,
would you be proud of the things they say about how you spent your dash?
