Jose Trinidad Carrasco, 48, of Dixon, IL, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 30, 2024, at his home in Dixon. He worked as an Auto Detailer for Ken Nelson Auto Group in Dixon.
Jose was born on June 13, 1976, in Mundelein, IL, the son of Blas and Esperanza (Romero) Carrasco. He married the love of his life, Melissa Weichbrodt, on November 28, 2016, in Dixon. Jose enjoyed so many things during his life - from being outside, planting flowers and growing his garden each year, watching movies, and spending time with his dear family and cherished cats...to put it simply, Jose loved life. He was a kid at heart and loved to build one of his many (and I mean many) sets of Legos. If he wasn't building Legos, or making people laugh, he could often be found with his wife joking about how they must officially be an "old married couple" as they sat on the porch on summer nights listening to music together.
Jose would want his impression to be a lasting and positive one. When you see a stray cat that needs a home, when you build Legos and have the fleeting feeling of being a kid again, when you make people laugh so hard their sides hurt, or even when you pass someone listening to music a little too loud out on their porch in the summertime please think of Jose and smile.
Jose is survived by his wife, Melissa Carrasco; son, Isaac Hopf; step-daughter, Ava Hagler; sister, Lisa Carrasco; his beloved cats, Raider, Loki, and Izzy Bones; and his life-long friends, Brian Walker and Deann Radick.
Jose was preceded in death by his parents.
A Celebration of Life will take place from Noon - 2:00 pm on Friday, January 10, 2025, at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon. Cremation Rites have been accorded.
A memorial has been established.
