Thomas "A' Alvin Hale, 77, of Dixon, passed away Sunday, August 3, 2025, at OSF Saint Katharine Medical Center, Dixon. He worked as a crane operator for NW Steel & Wire, for 30 years, prior to his retirement on January 1, 2000.

Tom was born, August 7, 1947, in Mendota, the son of Harold and Imogene (Brown) Hale. He married Donna Kay Nuttall on June 29, 1968, in Dixon. She preceded him in death on October 27, 2022. He was a member of the Dixon Elk's Lodge BPOE 779, and the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 727.

Tom is survived by one son, Jeffrey William (Jayme) Hale of Dixon; two sisters, Linda (Charles) Maves, Christine (Bernard) Knight; five grandchildren, Devin (Mariela) Hale, Courtney (Dantrion) Dodd, Stephanie (Brock) Harvey, Gable Hale, Payton Hale; four great-grandchildren, Rhyon (Nataile Miller), Sadie, Prosper, and Aramis; three sisters-in-law, Shirley Hale, Denell (Rick) Reubin, Darlene (Dave) Taft; and two brothers-in-law, Danny (Fern) Nuttall, and Richard Stangeland.

Tom was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Diane Hale; one son and daughter-in-law, Thomas Lee (Valerie) Hale; and one brother, William Hale.

A Celebration of Life will be Sunday, August 10, 2025, from 1 - 4:00 p.m. at the Dixon Elks Page Park Pavilion, Dixon. Cremation rites have been accorded. A private burial of cremains of both Tom and Donna will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Dixon, at a later date.

Memorials may be directed to Granny Rose Animal Shelter, Dixon.

Arrangements were completed by Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon.
