Norlyne Taylor Obituary
Norlyn Roy Taylor, age 78, and a resident of Morton, passed away on Friday, August 15, 2025.
Known by everyone as Roy, he was born on June 30, 1947, in Colegate, Oklahoma, to his parents, Dorothy Bull Taylor and Norlyne Royal Taylor. He joined the United States Navy in 1968, and he later became a Navy SEAL. He was known for his love of his country and was a God-fearing man. Following his service in the Navy, he became a law enforcement officer. He loved helping people, and his position in law enforcement allowed him many opportunities. Locally, he had worked for the Morton Police Dept. and the Scott County Sheriff’s Dept. Roy was also a dedicated husband and father, and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents and, recently, his wife, Sarah Bell Taylor.
Survivors include a son, Jamie Taylor of Morton, 2 brothers, Robert Taylor and Ricky Taylor, both of Oklahoma. He also leaves behind a legacy of 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, and a host of friends.
Per Roy’s wishes, no services are scheduled.
