Norma J. Adkins, 93, of Akron, passed away on December 2, 2024. She was born on December 2, 1931 the daughter of the late John and Catherine Minninger. Norma above all loved her family. She enjoyed having her family at the dinner table and was known for her baked goods and cooking especially her Beef and Noodles dinner.
Norma also enjoyed playing bingo, cards "500 Rummy" was her favorite and "Wahoo" with family and friends. During her quiet times she would work on her crossword puzzles. She will be missed by all who knew her for her smile, kindness, and her love for her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and beloved sons John Adkins and Richard Adkins.
Norma is survived by her loving husband of 74 years, Sylvanus Adkins Jr.; children Deborah Chack, Michael (Kay) Adkins, and Mark (Debbie) Adkins; granddaughter and guardian angel Denise Coblentz; grandchildren Lisa, John, Ricky, Jennifer, Carrie, Kelly, Kenny, Denise, Brian, Brandon, Stacy, Mark, and Erika; many great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held Monday, Dec. 9th from 11:00 to 1:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N. Canton Rd., Akron 44305) where services will be held at 1:00pm with Father Leo Wehrlin officiating.
