NORMA MAE CARLBERG, age 91, of Adrian, died Saturday, November 30, 2024, at the Worthington Sanford Medical Center. She was born November 21, 1933, in Worthington, to Draper and Ethel (Watts) Apel. Norma was raised on a farm north of Worthington. She attended country school until the 8th grade and then graduated from Worthington High School.
Norma married Gordon Carlberg on June 24, 1951, in Worthington. The couple moved to Adrian where they raised four quiet, cool, calm & collected boys (Ha). Norma worked at the Arnold Memorial Hospital before working at Schutz Hardware and later, Adrian Hardware.
She was a member of the Adrian United Methodist Church in Adrian. She enjoyed playing cards, and cooking for her family.
Norma is survived by her four sons, John (Joni) Carlberg, Adrian; Thomas (Pat) Carlberg, Aurora, CO; Robert (Tamara) Carlberg, Baltic, SD; and William (Gloria) Carlberg, Lismore; ten grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and one on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gordie in 2003; and a sister, Delores (Jack) Vierling.
Visitation will be from 4-6 pm Wednesday, December 4, at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Adrian; and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Funeral will be 11 am Thursday at the Adrian United Methodist Church, in Adrian, officiated by Pastor John Mitchem. Burial will be in the Worthington Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
