Life Lived
Born in Merriman, Nebraska on September 2, 1937 to William Hicks and Aileen Anderson Hicks Jacobs. Norma spent her life with her family and friends. Norma married Joe Castro in Gering, Nebraska on June 16th, 1956. She gave birth to 3 children, Anita, Patty and Sebastian. She ran a small drycleaner shop with her husband Joe Luis Castro, later retiring near her son in Greeley, Colorado.
Family and Friends
Norma is survived by her daughter Anita Kershaw, her son Sebastian "Sam" Castro, daughter in law Angie Castro, son in law Jeff Elting. Patty Elting her daughter preceded in death. Her grandchildren: Joe & Carmen Marksmeier, Josh Marksmeier, Matt & Sarah Marksmeier, Rachel & Josh York, Katie & Justin Heitman. Jacob Elting, Tyler Elting, Darryn Houser, Hanna Castro. And great grandchildren: Joe Marksmeier, Bostyn Marksmeier, Kratyn Marksmeier, Londyn Marksmeier, Tim Marksmeier, Oliver Marksmeier, Aniha Marksmeier, Jameson York, Jacobson York, Beckett Heitman, Thea Heitman, Anistyn Elting, Carlyn Elting, Flynn Houser, Jaycee Houser and her sister in law Leila Hicks, and friends.
Her wishes
Throughout her life, Norma was a private person and preferred to be alone most of the time. To respect her wishes, no formal service will be held. We ask as a family that you say a prayer for her.
