Norma Cerrito, 90, died on Sunday, September 15, 2024 in Howell, New Jersey surrounded by her family.
Born Wednesday, May 16, 1934 in New York, New York, Norma was the daughter of the late Dominic and Assunta Stellini. She graduated from Cathedral High School, where she played on the girl's basketball team. She met the love of her life, Joseph Cerrito in 1950. After two years of courtship, the couple married in 1952. Joseph then served in the US Navy during the Korean War. Norma and Joseph would begin to start a family of their own. They would eventually settle down in Staten Island, NY, where they raised their six children.
Norma was a very active member of Holy Child Church in Staten Island, NY and attended church weekly. She was a member of the sewing club and worked in the rectory for many years. In her free time, Norma loved to sew, play cards, read, and do puzzles. Above all, she loved being in the company of her family, especially her many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Norma was a kind and loving woman who will be missed by all those lucky to have known her.
Norma is predeceased by her beloved husband Joseph who passed in April of 2001. She is also predeceased by her brothers Aldo Stellini and his wife Joan, and her sister Rita Krumdieck. Survived by her brother- in -law Raymond Krumdieck and her brother Robert Stellini and his wife Barbara.
Norma is survived by her loving children Rosemary Johnson and her husband Wayne, Karen Lewis and her husband Stephen, Joseph Cerrito and his wife Barbara, Anna Pacinda and her husband Michael, Norma Cerrito and Domenick Cerrito. By her adoring grandchildren Christopher Johnson and his wife Meghan, Michael Pacinda, Stephen Lewis and his wife Jennifer, Matthew Johnson, Christina Cataudella and her husband Filippo, Victoria McKee and her husband Terry, Krystal Fulton and her husband Jonathan, Gregory Lewis and his wife Danielle, Nina Cerrito, Nicole Scott and her husband Brandon, Nicholas Pacinda and his wife Jessica, Rachel Cerrito, Domenick Cerrito, Joseph Cerrito, and Jasmine Cerrito- Norma is also survived by her 21 cherished great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals and Cremation Service, 3377 US Highway 9, Old Bridge, N.J
A Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at Holy Child Church located at 4747 Amboy Rd Staten Island, New York 10312.
Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Staten Island, NY.
