Norma Facciolongo, a beacon of pure selflessness and love, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2025, at the age of 89 in
Hackensack, New Jersey, surrounded by her family. Born on March 18, 1936, in New York City, Norma's life was a tapestry of rich experiences and heartfelt connections.
Raised in Flushing, Queens, Norma's early years were filled with the warmth of her Italian heritage and the bustling energy of New York City. Her parents, Nazzareno and Marina Reginelli, instilled in her a deep appreciation for family and the arts. Though she would later travel the world, the lessons learned and bonds formed during her childhood remained a guiding force throughout her life.
Norma met the love of her life, Sabino Facciolongo, in 1967. They later married in 1972 and settled in
Clifton, NJ in 1975, where they have remained. Their love story was one for the ages. Together, they built a life filled with joy, laughter, and exploration. Their travels to Europe, including visits to family in Italy, were highlights of their shared journey. Norma's daughters, Nadia Stern and Claudia Burke, along with their husbands Ken and Sean, were the pride of her life. Her grandchildren, Patrick and Sara Stern, brought her immeasurable happiness, and her sister, Genevieve Stipkovich and nephew, Paul Stipkovich, shared in the countless cherished moments. Norma was predeceased by her sister, Gloria Reginelli, but the memories they created continued to bring comfort to the family.
Norma was a former parishioner and Eucharistic minister at St. Brendan R.C. Church for many years. She was also an avid supporter of PBS and believed in the power of public broadcasting to educate and inspire. Norma had a true passion for cooking, and loved to listen to classical music while doing it. Everyone she cooked for loved her food because she prepared it with love.
A talented drawing artist, Norma inspired others to embrace their artistic talents, leaving a legacy of creativity that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her appreciation for nature was evident in the way she lived her life, always taking the time to savor the beauty around her.
