Norma Heimbaugh Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by David M. Myers Funeral & Cremation - Newport on Oct. 9, 2024.
Norma Jane Heimbaugh, 87, of Wila, PA passed away peacefully on October 8, 2024, at her family home. She was born in Reeds Gap to John and Rachel Hopple. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Harold, and husband C. Leroy Heimbaugh.
Norma & Leroy were married for almost 50 years and worked together daily on the family farm, raising their five children. Their dedication to one another was a true example of companionship and faith to all who had the pleasure of knowing them. As a young adult, Norma loved square dancing and traveling with her girlfriends to the beach and out west. Later, she became an adult literacy tutor at Perry County Literacy Council and enjoyed taking bus trips to concerts and musical theatre. Norma loved tending her flowers, reading, and listening to old-time country music.
Norma's kitchen was open morning, noon, and night for anyone in need of a warm meal, ice cream, or a hug. Her home was a popular Sunday afternoon gathering place for her kids, grandchildren, neighbors, and friends-no matter how many people showed up, there was always plenty for everyone. Her true calling was caring for her children, grandchildren, and others. No one was a stranger around Gramma-she was a great listener and truly brightened the lives of all who knew her.
A sweet, loving, and devoted mother, Norma is survived by her five children: Tim (Leslie); Jeff (Wendy); Laurie (Rodney); Wendy (Alan); and Kerry (Denise); nine grandchildren: Kelsey, Chelsey, Michael, Jake, Noah, Isaac, Maggie, Levi, and Nathaniel; her sister Erma Hutchinson and numerous nieces, nephews, and sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law.
A visitation will be held at New Harvest Community Church in Millerstown on Saturday, November 2, 2024, from 10 to 11 am. A funeral service will immediately follow with Pastor Rodney Bower officiating, followed by a luncheon in celebration of Norma's life.
In place of flowers, donations to the Perry County Literacy Council are greatly appreciated. https://perryliteracy.org/donate/
