Norma Jean Kellar, 87, of Belleville, New York, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Cole Camp, Missouri. She was born on October 9, 1938, in Belleville, New York, the daughter of Glen McGrath and Norma (Lane) McGrath, who preceded her in death.
On December 27, 1957, in Ellisburg, New York, Norma was united in marriage to Ronald E. Kellar. Together they shared nearly 60 years of devoted love and partnership before his passing on December 10, 2017.
Norma was a proud graduate of Henderson Central High School in Henderson, New York, Class of 1956. Soon after graduation, she married the love of her life, Ronald, and embraced the adventures of military life when he enlisted in the United States Air Force. Side by side, they made homes wherever they were stationed, traveling from Turkey to Germany, and across the United States to Texas and Maryland. After their years of service, they returned to New York, and later enjoyed retirement life in Florida.
A talented and creative spirit, Norma found joy in sewing and crafting, always keeping her hands busy and her heart full. She treasured time with her family most of all, especially the laughter and memories made with her grandchildren. And in true Norma fashion, her home and heart were also shared with her beloved feline "fur babies," Oscar, Gizmo, and Meiko, who brought her endless comfort and companionship.
Norma is survived by two sons, Kenneth Kellar (Kim) of Sedalia, Missouri, and Neal Kellar (Valerie) of Adams, New York; ten grandchildren, Kylee Kellar (Todd Rizzo), Tiffany Barney (Anthony), Bradley Kellar, Michelle Kellar (Nathan Matteson), Gary Kellar (Chassitey), Christine Kellar, Nickolas Kellar (Merzaydee Moore), Randy Kellar (Stephanie), Brittany Teifke (Andrew), and Erika Hedger (Brian Moore); sixteen great-grandchildren, with one more great-grandchild on the way; two sisters, Arlene Burley and Jane Gordon; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
In addition to her husband and parents, Norma was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Hedger; and six siblings, Howard McGrath, Glenn McGrath Jr., Phillip McGrath, Kathleen Brett, Betty Laird, and Merle Vroman.
A Celebration of Life will be announced by the family at a later date.
