Norma V. Larson

Norma Viola Larson, 93, of Superior passed away on February 25, 2026, at St. Mary's Essentia Hospital in Superior.

Norma was born on October 7, 1932, in Superior, WI, she was one of five children to William and Julia (Larsen) Nelson. She graduated from Superior Central High School with the class of 1952. She married Donald M. Larson on April 10, 1954, and they celebrated almost 72 years together.

She enjoyed playing softball for many years. She was an avid bowler, a 42-year member of the Superior Women's Bowling Association and was inducted into that hall of fame in 1998. She also enjoyed watching sports and you could often find her cheering on the Milwaukee Brewers and the Green Bay Packers. Norma also loved playing bingo and looked forward to playing weekly.

She is survived by her husband, Don; children, Scott (Pam) Larson, and Dee Dee (Randy) Kolanczyk; son-in-law, Richard Schachte; daughter-in-law, Karen Larson; grandchildren, Lisa (Dean) Durham, Joe Schachte, Justin (Terri) Schachte, Dana (Ian Graves) Larson, Kerri (Mike) Ugrich, Sean (Molly) Larson, Ryan Larson, and Alyssa Sather; great-grandchildren, Koby, Amara, Addie, Ramona, Emma, and Jack; sister, Eleanor (Ernie) Dalbec; and many nieces and nephews.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Evelyn (Bud) Lemunyon and Lillian (John) Lisak; brother, William (Elfreida) Nelson; daughter, Debra Schachte and son, Randy Larson; granddaughter, Anna Larson; and great-granddaughter, Kylie.

Visitation will be held on Saturday March 7th from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 funeral service at Downs Life Celebration Center, 1902 N 34th St., with Gary Banker as officiant. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery will be held at a later date.

The family would like to thank the entire staff at Essentia Health-St. Mary's Hospital in Superior for their exceptional care of Norma and for their kindness and compassion.
