Regina L. Runquist

Regina L. Runquist, age 47, of Superior, died Wednesday, February 25, 2026, surrounded by family at Essentia St. Mary's Medical Center, Duluth.

She was born April 24, 1978, in Duluth, the daughter of Regina (Ericson) and Richard Runquist. Regina lost sight at a young age but did not let that slow her down, she lived her life to the fullest. She absolutely loved life! She enjoyed bingo and cribbage, listening to the Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Twins, and watching game shows. But most of all, loved being with her family. She was also a member of Hope Church in Superior.

She was preceded in death by her father and her paternal and maternal grandparents.

Regina is lovingly survived by her life partner Shawn McConnell of Superior; her sons Gage McConnell of North Carolina and Collin McConnell of Superior; by her mother, Regina Runquist of Superior; two sisters Robyn (Nick) Olson and Rhonda (Terry Rhodes) Runquist all of Superior. Her nieces and nephews, Matthew Buerger, Nyccole (Tyler) Moen, Amaya Rhodes, Hattie Olson and Lamar Rhodes; her great nieces and nephews, Sofia and Ryan Wade and Hazel Moen; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be Saturday March 7, 2026, from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon memorial service with luncheon to follow at Hope Church, 1827 Wyoming Avenue, Superior.

In lieu of flowers and if desired, memorials to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
