Norma L. Miller, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2025 surrounded by her family. Born on January 30, 1937, in Burlington, Iowa, Norma was the daughter of Rudolph Otto and Celia May. She grew up on a farm with her sister Dorothy and brother Charles, where she developed a deep love for horses, even if she wasn't particularly fond of farm chores.
Her early years were marked by frequent moves due to her father's military service, eventually leading her to graduate from high school in Rapid City, South Dakota. Norma pursued higher education at a business college in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Upon her return home she met the love of her life, Clyde Eugene Miller. The two were married in 1959 and went on to build a life together filled with love and dedication.
Norma and Clyde raised four children: Robert Eugene, Alicia Gayle, Clella Beth, and Thomas Howard. Norma was a devoted mother who instilled in her children the importance of hard work, a value she exemplified through her long career in civil service. She was known for her tireless work ethic, her kind spirit, and her generous heart-traits that left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Rudolph and Celia; her sister Dorothy and brother Charles; her beloved son Robert Eugene; and her great-granddaughter Natalia Irene.
Norma is survived by her children Alicia, Clella, and Thomas and his wife Crystal, as well as 11 grandchildren and their spouses Paige, Nicole, Jeremiah, Rebecca, Steven, Ashley, Tyler, Zoie, Damon, Alicia, Tyshion, Tianna, and Tasia and 8 great-grandchildren who will carry on her legacy of love, kindness, and strength.
She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution and a Lifetime member of the VFW women's Auxiliary.
She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who loved and knew her.
Funeral Service will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, June 5, 2025, at Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home, 1616 Poyntz Avenue, Manhattan, Kansas 66502
