Norma Faye Minser

Norma Minser, age 99 of Bayside, WI, formerly of Auburn, IA, passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at Aurora Hospital in Grafton, WI. Norma was born on August 25, 1925, to parents Harvey and Wobena (Garrels) Wright on their farm outside of Wall Lake, IA. She attended country school and continued her education at Buena Vista College, where she earned her teaching certificate. On August 2, 1949, Norma was united in marriage to Earl R. Minser at the Little Brown Church in Vail, IA. This union was blessed with two children: Clay and Kristi. Norma held many roles throughout her life, including teacher, homemaker, and as a bank receptionist. She was a quiet person and enjoyed spending her time at home doing puzzles of all kinds and reading. She loved word games like Scrabble. When she'd turn on the tv, you could find her watching evangelists and shows like Gunsmoke, Bonanza, and Rawhide, and maybe Friends. She was described by those closest to her as a social butterfly and sharp as a tack to the very end. Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Clay (Deb) Minser of Mequon, WI, and Kristi Minser of Milwaukee, WI; grandchildren: Jasmine (Ryan) Reinders, Graham Minser (Arakita Rida Rimbayana), Halley Minser, Madeline Minser; great-grandchildren: Chase and Callie Reinders. Norma was preceded in death by her husband Earl Minser; grandson Jason; parents; and siblings Lloyd "Sonny" and Alice. A Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday at the Lampe and Powers Funeral Home in Lake City, IA. Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m., until the Funeral Service at 3:00 at the Lampe and Powers Funeral Home. The Burial will be in the Oak Lawn Cemetery in Auburn, IA.
